My name is Ed Wetenhall. I'm an artist and musician from High Wycombe, currently living in Camden Town, London.
As an artist, I mostly find myself making oilstick paintings and ink illustrations, though I also have experience in sculpture, model making, animation, image and video editing. I have been drawing and painting since I was old enough to hold a brush and am - as far as I can remember anyway - completely self taught. I have created original artworks for companies, bands and individual clients in a variety of techniques and applications over the past decade, and have recently begun selling originals, prints and merchandise of my various collected works. I have also worked professionally in the set decoration and art departments for several films and TV shows including Life (2016), Mary Queen of Scots (2017), Cursed (2019) and Dr Strange 2 (2020-2021). I am currently working on a solo art exhibition for 2021, showcasing my various oilstick and ink works publicly for the first time.
As a musician, I have written, recorded and produced several albums, EPs and singles under a variety of different projects, the most well known of which is my current band Ed The Dog and previous band Fish Tank. I have performed in the UK, EU and USA playing notable venues and festivals such as; Maida Vale Studios, Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, The Great Escape, Live at Leeds, Kendal Calling, Hit The North and Neverworld. My work has garnered praise from publications such as BBC News, NME, Dork, DIY and The Line of Best Fit, as well as extensive radio support from Jack Saunders (Radio 1 - Next Wave), Huw Stephens (Radio 1 - Album of the Week), Annie Mac (Radio 1), Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson and Amy Lamé (Radio 6 Music), Danny Fullbrook and Jaguar (BBC Introducing), Jordan Scudder and Frankie (Amazing Radio - Album of the Week) and John Kennedy and George Godfrey (Radio X). I have also worked professionally as a songwriter, VO artist, presenter and session musician, including playing for popular acts such as Charlie Barnes (Bastille), and Circa Waves. I am currently working on the third full length Ed The Dog album and 2021 live show.
